TCNJ Lions women's soccer has started this season strong as they continue to stay undefeated against Hood College at home. This team that the Lions have could be something special if they stay healthy and keep playing collective as a group. Hood was trying to go over 500 this matchup with 2 losses and ties. TCNJ has a great coaching staff with head coach Danny Blank, assistant coaches Fran Schmutz and Morgan Basileo. Blank has them ready for each game, well prepared and they are on another level right now.
Lions did a great job of controlling the ball, finding open teammates and setting up shots that eventually went in later in this game. Taylor Bielan scored her first goal of the season at the 38:22 mark which was assisted by Raquel Garces making it 1-0 against Hood College. TCNJ's defense dominantated right from the start not giving up easy shots to them as they had 34 total shots against Hood's defense. The Lions had all momentum and confidence heading into halftime with Blazers needing to fix things up for second half.
Second half was no different than first half as TCNJ continued playing their game and Hood did get some better shots off but couldn't convert on them. At the 72:25 mark Ava Curtis made it 2-0 over Hood College. They kept putting the pressure against Blazer's defense during this whole game which gave them trouble to keep up. The Lions just had a better game plan coming into this matchup which worked in their favor as they improve to 5-0 this season. TCNJ women's soccer is going to be fun to watch and cover rest of the season with amazing talent on that field.
