"Southern Regional Girls Basketball Improves To 6-3 This Season With A Dominant 66-20 Victory Over Jackson Liberty Lions On The Road"

Southern Regional girls basketball goes on the road to face Jackson Liberty who are struggling big time and still searching for their first win of season. Southern was looking to go 6-3 this season in the matchup as they knew every game will be tough no matter the record. One key player to watch out for was Southern Regional's junior guard Casey Collins who is one of the all around scorers in highschool girls basketball right now. She is close to reaching a milestone in points as the team keeps playing great. Let's find out and see what happens in this game between Southern and Liberty.


The first quarter was dominated by Southern Regional as they had everything going on defense and offense at the same time. Jackson Liberty had no answer for their offense and couldn't get anything going either to find shots. Liberty kept turning the ball over early which Southern took advantage of and did a great job of getting second chance points. Southern had a 22-0 nothing lead going into the second quarter as Liberty did a much better job. The turnovers definitely hurt Jackson but missed on few opportunities on buckets in first quarter.


Jackson Liberty did a good job on defense in second quarter by settling down, making adjustments and trying to force travels. Their offense was able to get some key baskets having confidence but still gave up 11 points as they scored 8. Liberty kept a positive mindset even though being down by big as Southern Regional had a 33-8 lead going into halftime. Liberty needed to figure out how to stop Southern's momentum, game plan and our rebounding them is the biggest key. The second half was all Southern Regional also outscoring Liberty 33-12 combined.


Southern Regional picked it up again setting the tone on defense, kept scoring the basket and made it tough on Jackson Liberty once more. They had a 53-12 lead heading into the fourth quarter and eventually won 66-20 improving to 6-3 this season as Liberty falls to 0-11. With these tough losses, they still show passion, grit, playing their game and learning at the same time which is good to see as they grow to become better players.
