"Somerset Patriot's 1B T.J. Rumfield Walks It Off In 10 Innings And Saw My Friends From News 12"

Last night it was Austin Wells Bobblehead at TD Bank Ballpark as Somerset Patriots was getting ready to play Erie. Also News 12 New Jersey sponsored the Wells bobblehead with their logo on front of box. This is the last home stand for Somerset before they start playoffs and sitting in a great position right now to repeat. The biggest headlines in this game were outfielder Spencer Jones and pitcher Drew Thorpe for Somerset against Erie. It was a great night for baseball with beautiful weather.

Drew Thorpe went 4.0 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 1 er, 0 walks, 5 strikeouts, 1 home run, 54 pitches and 36 strokes for Somerset Patriots. Then Carlos Gomez came in to pitch 2.0 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 er, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts, 37 pitches and 22 strikes. Next it was Ryan Anderson 1.1 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 er, 0 walks, 1 strikeout, 22 pitches and 13 strikes. Alex Mauricio 1.1 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 1 er, 1 walk, 1 strikeout, 1 home run, 31 pitches and 23 strikes. Last it was Danny Watson who got the win (4-0) 1.1 innings, 1 hit, 2 runs, 1 er, 0 walks, 2 strikeouts, 1 home run, 13 pitches and 11 strikes.

The Somerset Patriots offense did a great job yesterday against Erie pitching with contributions from Max Burt, Spencer Jones, Agustin Ramirez, Ben Rice, T.J. Rumfield and Eduardo Torrealba. Spencer Jones was outstanding on the bases stealing two of them and now has 39 on the season. Rumfield who came back from an injury made some awesome plays on defense and ended up getting the game winning hit as they won 5-4 and improve to 77-50 on the season.

I also Saw my good friend Lauren Due tonight from News 12 New Jersey as She remembered me from my segment in the studio with Syma Chowdhry & finally met Rick Holmes who threw out the first pitch at Somerset.
