Yesterday live at Allstars Sportsplex in Altamonte Springs Florida they had a softball clinic with the We Fam Organization from 4:00 to 6:00 pm eastern. Jahmon Taylor and Rickie Weeks SR were the coaches for softball as four players were in attendance. One of them is in college at Allen University and her name is Zykhia Crisler who came with her mother Paula Davis. Before practice started Patricia Newsome who is a author and has an inspiring story did an interview with Zykhia. Then coach Rickie Weeks SR spoke to them giving motivation and getting ready to work hard.
The warmup drills were running back and forth, ladder workout to keep their heart rate going. They also did some infield, movement, throwing, defensive and hitting drills. These players are quick learners getting to watch Zykhia Crisler do her thing was something special. She has great instincts of the game, getting to the ball at right time and listening to her coaches. Crisler currently has two positions which is shortstop and catcher.
Crisler's defense is outstanding from what I saw during yesterday's practice with We Fam as she continues to get better each day. We Fam has given Zykhia the opportunity to showcase her unbelievable talent in softball, learn different skills, new techniques and getting coached by Jahmon Taylor and Rickie Weeks SR. They make sure that their players are committed to the work, staying focused and be an athlete. Zykhia Crisler is passionate about his game of softball, she is all about hard work, improving her all around game and has a great support system with her mother Paula Davis.
Zykhia Crisler has a nice swing as coach Jahmon Taylor was working with her during the hitting session yesterday. I was able to do an interview with Crisler talking about being part of We Fam Non Profit Organization, women in sports and giving advice to the young girls. Shout-out to Patricia Newsome for taking that video for me and thank you Zykhia for doing the interview. She has a bright future ahead of her as people need to start paying attention on Crisler's talent. It was also amazing to meet Abbigail Patterson and Adasha Elmore this weekend making new connections.
Shout-out to the We Fam Non Profit Organization, Rickie Weeks SR, Jemlie Weeks, Rickie Weeks Jr and Jahmon Taylor for inviting me to do some media coverage for you guys, looking forward to doing more with them.
