"No 13 Manasquan Girls Basketball Squeeze Past No 3 Red Bank Catholic In A Huge Showdown For Shore Conference Tournament, Semifinal Round"

Two of the top ranked teams in girls high school basketball faced off against each other during Shore Conference Tournament, Semifinal Round between number 13 Manasquan and 3 Red Bank Catholic. They both match up well with size, length and shooting when it comes to spacing out on the court. Manasquan were at 19-4 while RBC was 21-4 coming into this matchup. Lisa Kukoda and Joe Montano are also two of the best coaches in girls high school basketball and they have their own unique style of coaching which works. Who can come out on top and advance to next round.


Players to watch out for were Olivia Shaughnessy, Katie Collins, Hope Masonius and McKenna Karlson with Manasquan. Red Bank Catholic had Addy Nyemchek, Tessa Carman, Tessa Liggio and Katie Liggio. They also have both great benches on each team with a lot of experience and youth. These two teams are well balanced, coached, prepared and know their assignments. This would set up to be a great, exciting and entertaining game for everyone.


Addy Nyemchek gots thing going for Red Bank Catholic as she drew a foul early against Manasquan's defense to set tone on offense. Then McKenna Karlson gets Manasquan on the board with a three pointer. Their defense did a great job of making adjustments to hold RBC to only 9 points in first quarter. Manasquan had 15-9 lead going into second quarter where RBC made a run to cut Manasquan's lead to 7 before halftime. Both benches started to make big contributions which helped Keep this game close throughout. RBC did a better job on defense as they were down 28-21 at halftime.


The second half between these two teams was high intensity with a lot of back and forth scoring. Manasquan and Red Bank Catholic had better shot selections which led to transition baskets. Rebounding and turnovers was also key in this game that dictated the outcome of game. Red Bank Catholic took the lead at one point but Manasquan did a great job of taking it back and preventing them from another comeback. Manasquan stuns Red Bank Catholic as they get a 59-56 victory advancing to final round and improving to 20-4.


Manasquan will face St. John Vianney Lady Lancers on Sunday February 18th at 12:00 Pm Eastern in Shore Conference Tournament, Final Round.
