Montclair State University men's basketball and Kean University battled against each other which was a close ending. The game was intense, crazy, fast tempo and a couple of dunks. Kean was trying to get to 500 while Montclair were looking to go four games over 500. This matchup was a theme of run in two halfs with a lot of back and forth scoring between these two teams. Let's see who comes out on top in this high intensity game.
The first half Montclair got off to a strong start from the three point line as Kean had trouble guarding them and they took advantage of that. Also Montclair did a great job of creating turnovers against Kean to get points off from that. Then Montclair's defense started to struggle a little as Kean went on a 7-0 run which tied the game at 35-35 with 1:09 left before halftime. Kean had a 41-38 lead going into the break with Montclair losing some confidence and Kean having momentum.
Montclair dominated the second half against Kean as their defense was great and played at another level. They were still down to Kean 54-47 with 15:14 left but Montclair went on a 7-0 run which tied the game at 54-54 with 13:53 left. This was half was all about runs, who can hold onto to the lead and win. Montclair did a great job of keeping it close, taking the lead and eventually putting it away so Kean couldn't make another run. Montclair ended up winning this game 92-86 improving to 10-6 this season as Kean drops to 7-9.
