Jackson Memorial Jaguars girls softball opened up their 2024 season today at Adventure Sports And Entertainment against Brick Memorial. They look to make a big statement early on this year underneath coach Haydee Donza. Jackson has a lot of great talent coming into this game and Brick Memorial had to match their intensity in order to win. Sophomore Emily Hersh took the ball for the Jaguars against Brick's offense. Jaguars had everything clicking right from the start against Brick Memorial's pitching as their offense couldn't be stopped at all. They did a fantastic job of putting the ball in play, drawing walks, taking advantage of mistakes, stealing bases and everyone producing in their lineup. Brick Memorial had trouble whole game locating pitches and playing sloppy on defense. The mercy rule after five innings was in effect as Jackson just kept on scoring and had a long second inning. This offense is scary, you don't want to face them and they can beat you in many ways.
Sophomore Emily Hersh was dominant today in her first start of this season going the distance and striking out five. Jackson Jaguars were up 22-0 as Hersh ended up getting thee final three outs after five and they get the statement win over Brick Memorial. What a way for them to pick up their first win as this game can be a huge confidence life for Jackson in upcoming games.
