Jackson Memorial Jaguars open up 2024 on a positive note as they get a bounce back win over Manalapan at home 56-24 improving to 5-1 this season. After a tough loss against East Brunswick before the new year, they were trying to get past that and look forward to a fresh month. Manalapan on the other hand were looking to go 500 as they came into this matchup struggling a little bit. This would be a great test for them against the Jaguars to see where they are at as a team. The first quarter was a close one between these two as both defenses set the tone early. Their offenses started off slow but were able to get going towards middle of first. Manalapan kept the game manageable heading onto second as Jaguars had a 11-9 lead after one. Turnovers were a issue early in this game also as these teams were still trying to find a tempo. Theme of first half was defense as both teams took up a notch forcing much tougher shots. Their defense was locked in, focused, made it tough on Manalapan's offense to get going again which helped Jackson's offense have momentum and have easy shots. In third quarter, the Jaguars got to the line more, passing the ball well to find open teammates and taking advantage of Manalapan mistakes. Heading into the fourth quarter Jaguars had a 35-22 lead with all the momentum. Jackson took over the last quarter and ran up the scoreboard quick.

Jackson can beat you in many ways with their young players and it's showing so far this season where once they get going then the other team is in trouble for sure.
