Today Nithin Ramachandra from NR Media interviewed The Trenton thunder pitching coach Matt Sweeney before tonight's game against Frederick Keys talking about yesterday's performance with Lorenzo Peterson, bullpen, having his kids with him every game, what he brings as a pitching coach and down the stretch before championship game. This was a great conversation between Nithin and Matt as Sweeney gave some great sound bytes.

Hey, can you talk about yesterday's matchup and obviously lorenzo peterson? He looked good, we're talking about his stuff yesterday. "Yeah, yesterday i mean he was able to kind of sink in and sliding yeah, around throwing a lot of strikes. The defense was there yesterday and our cool pen came in and did the job is to talk about that bullpen."
00:18
Starting with Enrique. Enrique coming in first to relieve, uh, the pitcher and talk about. I mean, enrique stuff, too. "Yeah. So enrique, you know, we were talking to over the last couple of days to try to get him in there and get some multiple innings and coming. So maybe some different opportunities and he's had all year."
00:33
"So to bring him in that time, he came in, you know, ready for that, and was able to kind of mix it together. Yeah. So it's speaking of, obviously, Brandon O'Neill came in, through gas struck on the side, talking about him. I had the opportunity to interview him earlier during the season, but this guy is, uh, legit in my opinion, which great stuff to talk about."
01:04
"He's got some good stuff as mechanics are there. So let's put it all together and i think we saw that last night and going with". Going back to lorenzo, um, obviously he was trying to improve in the last few starts up with the high era. But um, what do you think this will do for him from yesterday started with the with the confidence?
01:20
"Yeah, i think it definitely builds confidence and i think last night i think everyone here are the ballpark saw the little bit of personality coming out here, you know, when he, when he's comfortable, that's running is really locked in and i think he's starting to grow every outing". So tell everyone, what do you bring as a pitching coach?
01:34
What kind of style you bring as a pitching coast? "Oh, i think every pitching coaches is fairly unique and i think for me i just bring a level of um, You know, it's gonna simplifying the approach because you know today's world and pitching to see a little more complicated and and you know just the Yeah, let's let's just keep it simple and go out". Obviously you got some time with the phillies and what's it, like sharing your experiences with all the pitchers that you now you work with now.
02:04
"Yeah, and i mean, i think a lot of it. I mean the situations are generally the same. Obviously, the times are a little bit different now but i mean, for the most part it's the same game. You know. So going through these experiences i'm trying to pass that down as much as i can because as a player obviously you don't have those experiences and You know, to be able to kind of pass some of that down".
02:23
"I think eases the mind from time to time, and what's, uh". You mentioned your kids earlier. So, what's it like having your family every game, especially your two kids coming here, helping out with the players with batting practice or fieldings. So what's something like for you? "It's been amazing actually, you know, it's an experience".
02:36
"I never got to do as a player myself, so to be able to do it now as a coach is It's really cool in a different perspective. And what now, the one final thing". What are you most looking forward to obviously, down the stretch september 3rd, is the championship game here?
02:48
So what do you most looking forward to for the rest of the pitchers? "But for them to yeah, i mean, i'm really looking forward to them to, you know, to get to that championship game and continue to grow. And i'm obviously, you know, we hope that this season produces something for them in the long run for their future in the game".
03:03
All right. There you have it.
