"Devyn Quigley Scores Her 2000th Point Of Career For Manchester Yesterday As They Get A 60-46 Win Against Jackson Memorial Jaguars Improving To 6-4 This Season, 1-0 In Shore"

Jackson Memorial Jaguars went on the road yesterday to face Manchester Township in a tough test for them to see where they are at as a team. The Jaguars were 6-2 coming into this game while Manchester was 5-4 playing good basketball also with their top player Devyn Quigley who trying to make history. Jackson knew that they had to game plan around her because Manchester was going to give Quigley the ball most likely. The goal was trying to keep her under 20 points and put multiple players to prevent it.


It was a playoff type atmosphere right from the start in first quarter as both teams kept scoring back and fourth. The defenses were still trying to find their way as each team had success finding key shots in beginning. Chelsea Lavezzo set the tone early for Jackson as Devyn Quigley did it for Manchester. The Jaguars did a good job preventing shots early against Quigley in first quarter as they were tied at 14-14 heading into second quarter. This game was high intensity already with all the fans cheering and waiting to see history.


Devyn Quigley started to heat up in second quarter as she started to drive to basket and drew some fouls. Chelsea Lavezzo continued her strong game going to the basket also. Manchester did a great job of making adjustments on defense against the Jaguars offense making it a little tough on them. Jackson kept up with the scoring being only down 3 going into halftime by a score of 29-26. Quigley already had over 20 point with all the confidence heading to second half. Can the Jaguars make the adjustments against Quigley, let's find out what happens in second half where it got more intense.


The third quarter was a close one also between these two teams as Quigley continued to score the ball at a high rate and trying to get that 2000th point of career. She eventually made it happen as they stopped the game to take pictures with the coach, team and her family. Her next goal was to get 39 which would break Destiny Adams record who now plays for Rutgers University but didn't end up getting that record as she is one point shy of that. The Jaguars kept this game close until the fourth quarter being down 45-41 and everything started to unravel for them.


Manchester outscored Jackson 15-5 in fourth quarter as the Jaguars kept missing easy opportunities at the basket and trying to get foul calls but didn't. They were forcing their shots more as Manchester took advantage of that and kept extending lead making tough for them to come back. They ended up winning this game 60-46 improving to 6-4 while the Jaguars fall to 6-3 this season. A lot of positives to take from this game for Jackson and can take this as a learning experience going into next game. They do not give up, show fight in every game and play as a team.
