Last night Rutgers put on a show against FDU scoring 7-0 goals as a team at home with Allison Lowry getting hat trick. They were ready to go, loose during pregame, staying focused and determined to win this game. With this win Rutgers improve to 2-1-1 on the season as FDU falls to 0-4 so far. Scarlett Knights had a game plan going into this game as they stuck with it and worked out great. Their defense was outstanding on the pitch yesterday against FDU's offense whole game.
Gia Vicari got things started off quick for Rutgers as she scored her first goal of the season at the 2nd minute bottom right of goal off left foot, assisted by Riley Tiernan who also had a great game. Then at the 4th minute Allison Lowry gets a goal bottom right of goal off right foot assisted by Gia Vicari and Allie Post. Riley Tiernan joined the party as she scored her second goal of season during the 8th minute bottom center of goal off left foot. Before halftime Ashley Baran gets her first colligate goal of career with Rutgers as she scores it at the 43rd minute.
Rutgers didn't let up in the second half as they continued to put pressure on FDU's defense as Allison Lowry scored her second goal of the game at the 56th minute assisted by Riley Tiernan and Gia Vicari. Three and half minutes after Lowry did it again getting the hat trick at 59th minute that was assisted by Emma Misal and Sam Kroeger. Towards end of game at the 88th minute Gia Girman scored that made it 7-0. They had a total of 20 shots as a team which gave them the success to find key opens for each goal.
Rutgers next game is against Princeton on August 31st at 7:00 Pm.
