St. Rose was trying to continue their strong start to season as they hosted Albertus Magnus from New York. Looking at this roster, their team had length, size, multiple players that can beat you and well coached. Player to watch in this game for St. Rose was sophomore Jada Lynch who is already putting up big numbers in her highschool career. Lynch brings toughness, physical on both ends of court, can shoot the ball at a high rate and never gives up on a play. Can St. Rose go over 500 or does Albertus Magnus have other plans.
First quarter was a little struggle for St. Rose as they let Albertus Magnus get off to a strong start. Albertus was able to find open shots early, get to the basket, draw some fouls, pass the ball well and setting tone on defense. St. Rose's defense was good but couldn't stop them early. Albertus Magnus had all the momentum heading into the second quarter leading 14-7 as St. Rose needed to make adjustments to stay in game. They rushed some of the shots against Albertus defense which was a little concerning.
St. Rose did a better job of finding key shots in second quarter by slowing down the ball, setting up right plays and team movement. Their defense was still a struggle but the offense helped backed them up making a run to cut into Albertus lead a little before halftime. St. Rose was down by 8 heading into the break by a score of 26-18 getting some momentum back. Both teams ended up scoring 11 points in third quarter as Albertus Magnus had a 37-29 lead heading into the fourth quarter where they had success again like in the beginning of game.
Albertus Magnus dominated the fourth quarter with great defense which definitely helped give them confidence on offensive side as St. Rose struggled big time scoring the ball again. Albertus put this out of reach for them to comeback and ended up winning this game 51-37. They spoiled home court for St. Rose falling to 3-2 this season.
